HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?

All new clients are expected for the first 5 months to make payment at the start of the month for 50% of the scheduled sessions for the month. The remaining balance must be made by the 30th of the month.

 

After the first 5 months of tuition, the client will be billed at the end of the month for the full amount which must be paid by the 6th of the following month. Clients are welcome to continue to pay for their scheduled sessions at the start of each month even after surpassing the first 5 months.

WHAT SERVICES AND SUBJECTS DO WE OFFER?

We offer individual and group tuition, both face-to-face and online for both primary and high school students. Visit our 'Subject/Area' tab to view all our subjects.

 

"Winged Buddy" is a new service offered to coach students through scheduling/ planning, time management and goal setting. Tutors will do a check in with students in the morning (about 15-30 minutes) to assist students plan their academic schedule for that day, tutors can check in later in the day via message and review what was done. This will allow tutors to share practical tips for productivity, relevant resources for topics (online games, free textbooks, worksheets or practical activities). If students do not understand a certain topic they can then book a tutor session.

HOW DO I GET A TUTOR?

The easiest will be to head to our 'Book a tutor' page and enter your details to request a tutor. Alternatively, send us an email to wingedtutoring@gmail.com or contact us on 072 087 8101 to book your tuition. Our team will contact you within 2-3 business days to confirm your tuition logistics. Thereafter you will be sent with one or more suitable tutor profiles for you to choose from before beginning tuition.

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST LESSON?

This session is used to get to know the student more through developing a relationship with the tutor as well as writing a baseline assessment to determine the student's strengths and areas of improvement. It is helpful to determine whether the foundations of the subject need to be covered first as some of these are critical for current and future grades.

HOW LONG ARE THE LESSONS AND HOW MANY LESSONS CAN I BOOK?

The minimum tuition session could be is 1 hour but it can also be extended to 1,5 hours or 2-hour sessions. We would not recommend any longer on a particular sitting as the efficiency and effectiveness of learning will decrease. There is no limit to the number of tuition sessions.

WHAT DOES TYPICAL TUTION CONSIST OF?

The session begins with a recap of the previous session. This is followed by introducing the lesson concept using an educational strategy specific to the subject & practicing what was learned through written outputs such as worksheets, tests, and past papers. The session will end by testing the student's knowledge of what was learned and assigning any necessary homework to solidify the lesson.

WHAT IS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

Occupational therapy (OT), focusing on paediatrics, facilitates the development of necessary skills within children’s critical occupational areas of learning, development, and play. OT fosters growth in areas including sensory, gross motor, and fine motor skills by enhancing underlying performance components which are needed during learning/ schoolwork and during play both outside in the playground as well as inside in the classroom or at home.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY?

  • Step 1: Complete the referral form.

  • Step 2: Attend an interview to get background information regarding medical history, play, behaviour, and his/her development.

  • Step 3: We will conduct an in-depth assessment. 

  • Step 4: Once the assessment has been completed, the findings will be interpreted and a report compiled. These findings as well as recommendations will be discussed in a feedback session with the client.
